The NEWi Awards is designed to celebrate the best online talent chosen by the members of The Lunaticks Society of Newcastle.

The awards program has six main categories: Best Website; Best Online Publication; Best Online Creative Content, which includes images, animation, games, video and more; Best Mobile Application; Best Blogger; and Digital Citizen of the Year called The Joe Award, which recognises emerging digital talent.

Roughly 100 members vote for the NEWi Awards using secret ballots. Members select winners from as many as six nominees in each category, which are determined by members of the Society management committee.

Winners will be revealed before a live audience on Tuesday 25th September 2012.

The deadline to apply is Friday 1st September. The awards presentation evening will take place during the This Is Not Art Festival (TiNA) and will include a Reception and an Awards Ceremony.

WHO CAN ENTER:

Anyone can nominate any organisation involved in designing, building, managing, maintaining, marketing or promoting a digital asset.

Only entrants able to attend the awards ceremony will be considered this includes live or prerecorded video acceptances.

Nominations open July 8th 2012.

This Award will go to the best designed website.

BEST ONLINE PUBLICATION

This award will go to the best online news, cultural or industry publication.

BEST ONLINE CONTENT

This award will go to the best produced online content including animation, games, audio and video.

BEST MOBILE APPLICATION

This award will go to the best mobile application.

BEST BLOGGER

This award will go to the best personal or professional blog.

THE JOE AWARD – DIGITAL TALENT OF THE YEAR

This award will be bestowed on outstanding digital talent (individual, company or organisation).

HOW TO NOMINATE OR ENTRY

1. Step one: Enter details including name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address.
2. Step two: Choose an ENTRY TYPE — Website, Online Publication, Online Content, Mobile Application, Blogger or The Joe Award.
3. Step three: Enter nominated information including name of entry, URL.
